A technical snag on Saturday morning led to long delays on both the Central and Western line. Trains were running by over 30 minutes late resulting in overcrowded platforms.

AK Singh, public relations officer, Central Railway, said, "The trains were running late because of voltage fluctuation, which got resolved later in the day." Services remained disrupted from 7.30 am till 11.30 am. Commuters headed to work were delayed.
"The trains did not even arrive on their usual platforms. I take a slow train from platform number 1 at Mumbai Central, but today the train came on platform 3. I ended up reaching office late," said commuter Sushma Sawant.
According to Gajanan Mahatpukar, PRO, Western Railway, "Services were disrupted in the suburban section due to various technical reasons such as unit trouble and traction tripping on several sections. Many trains were cancelled." Not only local commuters, but even those on long-distance trains were affected.
"I boarded the Jabalpur Mumbai Garibrath Express, and my train reached Kalyan late by half an hour. It took many halts before reaching Dadar," said Ayushi Lakotia, a third-year student of textile design from SNDT university.
