In a tragic road accident early Tuesday morning in Gorai, two young men lost their lives after their speeding bike, carrying three people, skidded and crashed into an electric pole. The third rider survived but sustained serious injuries.

The deceased have been identified as Shivam Jha (27) and Rehan Chaudhary (22), both residents of Sion Koliwada. The injured survivor, Dinesh Thevar, is currently undergoing treatment.

According to police sources, the trio had partied the previous evening and initially planned a trip to Alibag. However, due to the long distance, they decided instead to head to Gorai. They checked into a resort around 4:30 AM, and while returning around 8:30 AM after capturing sunrise photographs at Gorai Beach, tragedy struck.

"The bike was at a very high speed, and due to the rain, the road was slippery. The rider lost control, causing the bike to skid and collide with an electric pole. The impact was fatal for Shivam and Rehan, who died on the spot," said an officer from Gorai Police Station.

Police confirmed that Shivam and Rehan worked at a call centre, while Thevar is employed in the telecalling division of a multinational bank’s insurance wing.

Following a complaint filed by Dinesh Thevar, a case of negligence has been registered by Gorai Police, and further investigation is underway.
