<a href="https://www.mid-day.com/mumbai/mumbai-news/article/mumbai-weather-update-imd-issues-yellow-alert-for-city-thunderstorms-and-gusty-winds-expected-23600013" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">Mumbai </a>and its suburbs are likely to experience generally cloudy skies today, with a possibility of thunderstorms accompanied by moderate rainfall and gusty winds.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for Mumbai, Thane, and Palghar, warning of isolated thunderstorms with lightning, moderate rainfall, and winds reaching 40&ndash;50 km/h.
Today, the city can expect a maximum temperature of around 33 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 24 degrees Celsius.
<h2>City's AQI in 'good' category</h2>
On October 26, the Central Pollution Control Board&rsquo;s SAMEER app reported in its latest <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/mumbai/mumbai-news/article/mumbai-weather-update-imd-issues-yellow-alert-as-thunderstorms-hit-city-and-suburbs-23600174" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">Mumbai weather updates</a> that the city&rsquo;s air quality in the 'good' category, with an Air Quality Index (AQI) of 55 at 10.30 AM.
As per the SAMEER app dashboard, many areas across Mumbai showed 'good' AQI. Colaba, Worli, Borivali, Bhandup and Vile Parle recorded 'good' air quality, with an AQI of 51, 59, 28, 40 and 47, respectively.
Meanwhile, Powai, Malad, Andheri and Byculla recorded 'good' air quality, with an AQI of 45, 64, 40 and 35, respectively.
<a href="https://www.mid-day.com/mumbai/mumbai-news/article/mumbai-weather-updates-city-air-quality-moderate-as-imd-forecasts-partly-cloudy-skies-and-light-rain-23599861" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">Bandra Kurla Complex</a> recorded 'good' are air quality, with an AQI of 55.
According to data from the SAMEER app, Navi Mumbai recorded air quality in the 'good' category with an AQI of 55, while Thane registered a 'good' AQI of 29.
The air quality index from 0 to 100 is considered 'good', 100 to 200 'moderate', 200 to 300 'poor', 300 to 400 'very poor' and from 400 to 500 or above 'severe'.
Meanwhile, <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/mumbai/mumbai-news/article/mumbai-weather-update-city-to-see-partly-cloudy-skies-temperature-around-36-degrees-celsius-says-imd-23599730" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">Delhi's air quality</a> slipped into the "very poor" category on Sunday as the mercury dropped to 15.8 degrees Celsius, the lowest recorded in October in the last two years.
The city registered an Air Quality Index (AQI) of 324, which falls in the "very poor" category, compared to 292 a day earlier. The AQI had been "poor" the past two days. Delhi's Anand Vihar recorded "severe" AQI with a reading of 429, followed by Wazirpur with 400. As many as 28 monitoring stations across the city reported "very poor" air quality with readings above 300, according to data from the Sameer app of the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB).
