Mumbai’s daily Covid-19 cases rise, but TPR drops

In the past 24 hours, the number of Covid-19 fatalities in the city rose to four from one. According to the BMC’s report, three of the four deceased patients had comorbidities, three were senior citizens and one was in the age group of 45-60 years.

After seeing a rise in the test positivity rate (TPR) for the past few days, Mumbai saw the figure decline significantly to 0.80 per cent on Wednesday from 0.93 per cent on Tuesday. Officials attributed the drop to an increased number of Covid-19 tests. Among the 42,723 samples tested across the city, 343 were found to be Coronavirus-positive.
