Navi Mumbai: Safety concerns mount at Nerul station amid parking, drug activity complaints

Persistent issues of illegal parking, drug activity, alleged narcotics peddling and safety concerns around Nerul railway station have triggered strong resentment among commuters. The concerns prompted a high-level coordination meeting between civic and police authorities on September 3 at the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) headquarters in Belapur.

The meeting was convened to review the deteriorating law-and-order situation and civic management around Nerul and neighbouring transit hubs ahead of the festive rush.
