Less than a fortnight after the BMC announced plans to set up coin-operated toilet booths for women in Mumbai, Navi Mumbai has also set the wheels in motion for similar ‘e-toilets’ for motorists on the Thane-Belapur and Palm Beach roads. If all goes according to plan, the facilities could be available by June.

The Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation plans to construct 14 e-toilets or bio-toilets at various points on the Thane-Belapur and Palm Beach roads. Representational pic
