In a bid to protect and enrich the newly planted saplings at Aarey Milk Colony, CEO decides to use colony’s wet garbage

Listen to this article :

In order to provide rich nutrients to the plants that have been recently planted at Aarey Milk Colony by various citizen’s groups, the office of its CEO has now decided to produce organic compost. On a pilot basis, the CEO’s office, along with the citizen’s groups will segregate the dry and wet waste produced in Aarey. While the dry waste will be handed to the BMC, the wet waste will be used to produce organic compost.

Over the last two years, there have been various drives to increase the green cover in this zone by citizens’ groups, corporate offices and even the office of the Aarey CEO, Gajanan Raut.
Raut, an environment and wildlife lover, has been emphasising on increasing the tree cover in Aarey and also making the area litter free.
