The last rites of Rohit Arya, who was shot dead by Mumbai Police in an encounter on Thursday, following the shocking Powai RA Studio hostage incident, were performed at around 2.30 am at Vaikunth Crematorium in Navi Peth, Pune, on Friday.

According to sources, Arya’s body was handed over to his family after the post-mortem examination. Arya’s wife and brother had brought the mortal remains to Pune late Thursday night. The cremation was conducted under wraps in the middle of the night, with only very close family members present.
