The mortal remains of Rohit Arya, who was shot dead in a police encounter in Mumbai, were brought to Pune’s Vaikunth crematorium around 2 a.m. on Friday. His wife and two children were present during the final rites.

His body was transported from Mumbai to Pune in an ambulance around 2 a.m. for the last rituals. Family members sat silently in the waiting area, their grief evident as arrangements for cremation were made.
