A 71-year-old senior citizen Pramila Maru received a new lease on life after Vasai GRP personnel saved her when she fell while catching a train at Vasai and slipped between it and the platform on Monday. Maru is a resident of Hyderabad and had deboarded the Bhavnagar-Kakinada Special Express to have tea at Vasai railway station. The incident was captured in the CCTV cameras of the railway station.
Vasai GRP Sachin Ingavale said, “After the woman fell while catching the running train, our three duty officers rushed to save her. They pulled her onto the platform and saved her. The woman was stuck between the train and platform gap and had rolled over 2-3 times. Due to this she received injuries to her waist. We rushed her to Ravi Hospital and learnt she sustained a few fractures to her waist. While holding tea in one hand she was trying to get into the train with the help of her other hand when she fell down.”
