Week after Freeway accident, woman in Mumbai booked for drunk driving

A 42-year-old woman from suburban Bandra in Mumbai was booked for alleged drunk driving after she tried to escape the alcohol test and sped away in an inebriated state, police said on Tuesday.
The woman, Shivani Bali, a resident of Worli in South Mumbai was intercepted near Bandra Reclamation on Monday night after Mumbai Police stepped up its enforcement drive against drunk driving following the Janhavi Gadkar case. According to police, when Bali was asked to stop her car for taking a breath analyser test, she initially tried to escape but later stopped her vehicle at a distance.
