Taking serious note of MiD DAY’s exposés about the unavailability of doctors at Aarey Milk Colony Hospital, the CEO of Aarey Milk Colony has written to the doctors at the institution, asking them to be present at the hospital. Staffers have been asked to conduct surprise visits to the area to keep a check on illegal dumping.

MiD DAY had conducted a sting to expose how no doctor was available at the hospital at 11 pm, with only a nurse manning the state-run facility, who referred all patients to another hospital 10 km away (‘Hospital in Mumbai’s leopard haunt has no doctor,’ MiD DAY, November 2).
Speaking to MiD DAY, CEO Ashok Jadhav said, “I have already written to the doctors at the hospital instructing them to be present there, so that not even a single patient coming to the hospital has to go away. It is the duty of the doctor to be present at the hospital. I will make sure that henceforth they are present.”

Soon after the story broke, Jadhav had sent a letter of warning to all tabela owners, causing the dumping to stop. But the process has resumed lately.
Responding to this matter, Jadhav said, “ We have already instructed the tabela owners not to dump cattle carcasses in the open. But if it this is still happening, then strict action will be taken against those doing it .”u00a0
