New Delhi-based RTI activist, Subhash Agrawal, who filed the RTI, said he was surprised with the workings of the IT department because it has not showed any urgency to complete assessment proceedings for pending years. Agrawal said it was regrettable that the huge amount of Rs 196 crore has still to be recovered for the assessment year 2006-07 and the IT department should immediately complete assessment proceedings against BCCI till date, adding that the tax authorities should also provide data of tax arrears against BCCI prior to the assessment year 2006-07. BCCI legal adviser Akhila Kaushik refused to comment on the issue, but a lawyer associated with the Board told MiD DAY yesterday that the BCCI&rsquo;s first appeal is still pending before the IT department.u00a0
