The BJP on Wednesday staged a protest in Nashik against Congress leader and Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi during his visit to the north Maharashtra city, accusing the Congress of opposing women’s representation in Parliament and state legislatures.

Nashik Mayor Himgauri Aher-Adake, BJP MLA Devayani Farande and other women leaders and supporters participated in the protest march. Several members of the BJP women’s wing, many dressed in black, raised “Go back” slogans against Gandhi and accused him and the Congress of working against women’s empowerment.
