However, I ignored this and went on walking,&rdquo; Patankar marrated. The BJP worker said that later the duo came to him and reprimanded him for not halting. They introduced themselves as cops and one of them pulled out an identity card and introduced himself as inspector Mishra. &ldquo;They told me that for security reasons, they needed to check my luggage and asked me to open my bag. They then asked me to produce my wallet and cellphone and they put both these inside the bag,&rdquo; he said. Patankar stated in his complaint that while speaking to him, the duo summoned two more people who were passing by, and one of the miscreants then started questioning them. &ldquo;The accused even went ahead and told the two pedestrians to keep the cash they had inside the bag, turned to me and asked me to remove my gold chain and ring and place these inside the bag too,&rdquo; he said, adding, &ldquo;As I was alone on the road, despite realising that the duo may be crooks, and the other two pedestrians their accomplices, I decided not to resist.&rdquo; After walking away from the spot and checking the bag, Patankar found that his wallet and cellphone were inside, but the gold valuables were missing. &ldquo;I then saw through their trick, and after the meet approached the Chatushrungi police station to lodge a complaint,&rdquo; he said.
