AIIMS doctors advise precautions as Delhi heatwave triggering rise in dehydration, heat stroke cases

Doctors at AIIMS Delhi have advised people to take precautions against heat-related illnesses as soaring temperatures lead to a rise in dehydration and heat stroke cases. Experts urged citizens to stay hydrated, avoid outdoor exposure during peak afternoon hours, and consume ORS and electrolyte-rich drinks

Doctors from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) have urged people to take preventive measures against heat-related illnesses as soaring temperatures continue to impact several parts of the country. 

Dr Piyush Ranjan, Additional Professor in the Department of Medicine at AIIMS Delhi, said that cases of dehydration and heat stroke tend to rise sharply whenever temperatures increase.
