The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) on Thursday foiled an alleged attempt to smuggle more than 3.2 kg of suspected cannabis through Imphal Airport after security personnel intercepted a departing passenger during a random baggage screening.

According to the CISF, the incident took place at around 7.38 am, when personnel deployed at the Random X-BIS Screening Point selected a passenger for additional baggage screening based on profiling. The passenger was scheduled to travel from Imphal to Delhi on Air India Express flight IX-1462.
