Central Railway has completed an Independent Safety Assessment (ISA) of Kavach 4.0, the indigenous train collision avoidance system, on the 104-km Amla–Chhindwara section in Nagpur division. This is the first section in the division to undergo the safety assessment for Kavach 4.0, which carries the highest Safety Integrity Level (SIL-4) certification category.
The assessment examined the system’s safety functions and operational performance, including its ability to prevent train collisions and respond to potential hazards.
