Students from villages are now discussing<a href="https://www.mid-day.com/tech/ai/article/cloudflare-to-cut-over-1100-jobs-amid-ai-driven-restructuring-23629648" rel="none"> Artificial Intelligence (AI) </a>and how it can be used effectively, NCP (SP) supremo Sharad Pawar said on Saturday.
The former Union minister was addressing a gathering at the Rayat Shikshan Sanstha's headquarters here on the death anniversary of its founder Karmaveer Bhaurao Patil.
"The world has accepted Artificial Intelligence, and Rayat Shikshan Sanstha cannot afford to remain behind. Rayat Shikshan Sanstha is embracing new technology and building ties with leading global universities to benefit students from rural areas," he said.
<a href="https://www.mid-day.com/news/india-news/article/nari-shakti-adhiniyam-pm-modi-addresses-nation-on-womens-reservation-bill-says-we-made-our-best-efforts-23626403" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">Efforts </a>are underway to establish partnerships with reputed institutions such as Boston University and the University of Oxford, which would help create new opportunities for students and strengthen Rayat Shikshan Sanstha's academic standards, he added.
The institution is carrying forward Patil's vision of opening the doors of education to children from the most underprivileged sections of society, he said, adding it had now expanded to 742 branches, with around 4.18 lakh students and 11,633 teachers.
He credited the institution's employees for its growth and achievements across academics, sports and other fields.
"A large number of teachers and staff members have undergone training in Artificial Intelligence. Students from villages are now discussing AI and how the technology can be used effectively," <a href="https://www.mid-day.com/mumbai/mumbai-news/article/mumbai-ncp-sp-chief-sharad-pawar-admitted-in-breach-candy-hospital-condition-stable-23626779" target="_blank" rel="none noopener">Pawar </a>said.
He said the institution has received Rs 25 crore in scholarships and donations from well-wishers during the current financial year.
He acknowledged philanthropist Ram Sheth Thakur for his continued support, noting that he has already donated Rs 3 crore to the institution this year.
"The collective efforts of donors, office-bearers and staff will help preserve the institution's ideals and pass them on to future generations," Pawar said.
