Authorities in Nagpur said that a group of robbers stole Rs 10 lakh from an ATM in Saoner town near orange city. A report in PTI stated that the cops have access to CCTV footage that captured the crime.

A police official told PTI that CCTV footage showed seven men, who were armed with swords, stealing cash early in the morning from an ATM. The accused, the cop said that arrived in a four-wheeler. They used a gas cutter to open the ATM, looted the money amounting to Rs 10 lakh and fled the scene.

The official further told PTI that a robbery case was registered against the accused and that an investigation is underway.

Meanwhile, in another incident from Nagpur, the cops have arrested a school teacher for allegedly shooting videos of women in a washroom at an industrial expo. The accused Mangesh Vinayakrao Khapre (37), a resident Kasarpura, had been discreetly filming the women on his phone through a window, PTI reported.

According to the report, the incident happened at the three-day industrial expo, 'Advantage Vidarbha', which was organised on the Nagpur University campus in Ambazari and it concluded on Monday.

One of the attendees complained about him to the organisers following which the police got involved and conducted a probe. The officials were led to the teacher, appointed to design the gate for expo, and arrested him. They also seized his phone in which they found nearly a dozen videos. Some had been deleted too. It was also learnt that he has previously done so and nearly 30 videos dating back to 2022 were found on his phone.

He was booked under pertinent provisions of the Information Technology Act and the Indian Penal Code. He was also presented in a local court which granted him bail.

In another case from Navi Mumbai, the Anti-Narcotics Cell (ANC) of the Navi Mumbai police recently arrested a 23-year-old guy who had 22 grams of MDMA, a narcotic estimated to be worth Rs 5.5 lakh. The arrest happened in the vicinity of a hotel gate in the Navi Mumbai neighbourhood of Koparkhairne on Monday night after ANC officers received a tip, reported PTI.
