Security arrangements at Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) have been intensified after receiving a Union Education Ministry warning of a possible terrorist threat, a senior official said on Wednesday.
"We have stepped up checking procedures at entry points," AMU Proctor Mohammad Waseem Ali told PTI.
AMU Proctor Mohammad Waseem Ali added that all possible security measures "within the limitations of the available resources" would be implemented shortly.
Ali also mentioned that university authorities plan to review security arrangements with district officials.
Meanwhile, a senior police official on Tuesday said, "Once the university authorities approach us, we will review the preparations from our side."
