Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Saturday described the formation of the BJP government in West Bengal as an “emotional and overwhelming” moment for party workers and supporters, saying it marked not only the party’s victory but also “India’s victory”.

Fadnavis made the remarks after attending the swearing-in ceremony of Suvendu Adhikari, who took oath as West Bengal’s first BJP chief minister at Kolkata’s Brigade Parade Grounds, marking the saffron party’s first government in the state since Independence.
