On learning about his team’s losses through their WhatsApp group, he sent an inspiring message to Parsee Gym’s vice-president and cricket secretary Khodadad Yazdegardi. “No worries, sir. Happens sometime. But we are playing a good brand of cricket. Vinu da [coach Vinayak Mane] has said it spot on. We will be back stronger.”
Yazdegardi informed mid-day about the message Suryakumar sent to his Parsee Gym teammates. He stressed that Suryakumar always follows the gymkhana’s matches and motivates the players. “Surya is very active on our team WhatsApp group. He keeps posting messages to motivate the youngsters and the team. He watches all our games live on Pitch Vision or Rainbow Warriors YouTube channel whenever PG is playing. That’s his commitment and loyalty to the club,” Yazdegardi said.
