The match is scheduled to begin in Lincoln on Saturday.
According to Cricinfo, the left-handed batsman continues to recover from a side strain.
His absence from the India A match has cast doubt over his availability for the two-match Test series against New Zealand. The first Test match is scheduled to be played from November 19 at the Basin Reserve in Wellington.
On the other hand, Team India's Jasprit Bumrah and Ravindra Jadeja are expected to make appearances in the third unofficial match against New Zealand A. Tilak Varma has joined the India A squad as Pant's replacement.
Dhruv Jurel will continue to lead the side, which also includes Nitish Kumar Reddy. The 25-year-old Jurel is likely to don the 'Big Gloves' if Pant fails to recover in time for the two-match Test series against the "Black Caps".
Fast bowler Prasidh Krishna is also expected to feature in the India A fixture as he looks to regain match fitness following three weeks of rehabilitation for a hamstring strain. Although cleared to play all formats, he was not included in the ODI squad as the team management looks to keep him fit for the Tests.
According to Cricinfo, Mohammed Siraj has joined India's ODI squad in Wellington ahead of Saturday's match after missing the series opener in Auckland. Siraj was rested following his appearance in the drawn second unofficial Test against New Zealand A at Hagley Oval in Christchurch, where he took four wickets for 118 runs across 35 overs in his only innings of bowling.
Currently, the "Men in Blue" is busy featuring in the five-match ODI series against New Zealand. The visitors have taken a lead by 1-0 and will look to continue the winning momentum. The second ODI clash is scheduled to be played on October 7 at the Wellington Regional Stadium in Wellington.
