"I feel competitive now," said Teimuraz Gabashvili after beating Andy Roddick here on Saturday. The World No 114 had never previously gone beyond the second round at a Grand Slam event. "I've won six matches (including qualifiers) and I didn't lose a set. I want to keep doing it. I don't think about where I am, or about Roland Garros. I just play," he said.

Gabashvili, who was playing in his first Grand Slam third-round match, will now play Jurgen Melzer (22).

The Austrian completed an upset of his own against ninth seed David Ferrer, winning 6-4 6-0 7-6 (7/1).
