Thailand's Kabaddi World Cup outfit is benefiting from an Indian before their second semi-final against India today &mdash; Kolhapur&rsquo;s Ramesh Bhendigiri.
Bhendigiri, who was Thailand&rsquo;s national coach for their men&rsquo;s and women&rsquo;s teams till 2015, offered tips to Thailand captain Khomsan Thongkham yesterday on how to counter Indian skipper Anup Kumar in Ahmedabad today.
&ldquo;The first half is very important for Thailand. Being a young side, they take decisions in a hurry so they must avoid that and concentrate on good defence. We spoke at length and worked out a plan to demoralise key Indian players particularly skipper Anup,&rdquo; Bhendigiri told mid-day yesterday.
&ldquo;It will be very difficult to beat this Indian side, but Thailand will definitely showcase their talent and will make India sweat,&rdquo; he said. Under Bhendigiri&rsquo;s guidance, the Thailand men&rsquo;s team won silver at the 2014 Asian Games while the women&rsquo;s outfit settled for bronze.

&ldquo;Whether the Indian team takes charge right from the start will depend on the first seven players who will make the team. They should play Deepak Hooda in the left corner position instead of Manjeet Chhillar and I think they must have learnt from their defeat against the Koreans,&rdquo; Bhendigiri added. Though India lost to Korea in the opening game, they convincingly made it to the semis. Thailand lost their first game to Iran, but recovered to overcome Poland, Kenya, USA and Japan.
