Prachi Shah of The Blossoms Sunderbai Thackersey English High School (Marine Lines) won a gold medal in the Mumbai Schools Sports Association (MSSA) inter-school girls U-10 judo championship at the District Sports Office (DSO) Sports Complex in Dharavi on Saturday.

The eight-year-old scored an ippon (see box) against Prarthna Bhoi of The Byramjee Jeejeebhoy Parsee Charitable Institution (Charni Road) to win her maiden judo title in the over 49kg category. Aditi Gaikwad of The Alexandra Girls' English Institution (Fort) and Mishka Shetty of Ryan International (Goregaon) won the bronze medal.
