Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty
India’s top men’s doubles pair of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty stormed into the Singapore Open semi-finals with a straight-game win over World No. 1 Malaysian duo of Goh Sze Fei and Nur Izzuddin here on Friday.
The Indian shuttlers registered a 21-17, 21-15 win in a 39-minute quarter-final clash. “Yeah, it’s a big victory because we are World No. 27 right now. So, it feels really good that we could beat them because we lost to them at the start of the year in the semi-finals of India Open. So, sweet victory,” Shetty said.
Rankireddy and Shetty will face third-seeds Aaron Chia and Soh Wooi Yik of Malaysia for a place in the final.
