It’s great that you have met someone you feel strongly about but, as you also point out, you don’t know this person well enough.

How do I know when it’s too soon to make a move and tell someone how I feel about them? I have met this guy two times and we haven’t actually gone on an official date, but the implication is that we will meet again soon. He asked for my number but hasn’t texted, so I am not sure if I will come across too strongly by asking for a date. I want to take it slow and not put too much pressure, but I also have this irrational fear that if I don’t tell him what’s on my mind, he may assume I am not interested and just go out with someone else. I know I am being hasty and that I should try and get to know him better first, but it has been a long time since I felt so strongly about someone. What should I do?
It’s great that you have met someone you feel strongly about but, as you also point out, you don’t know this person well enough. There’s nothing wrong with asking him out at all, but there’s also a lot to be said about taking time to move beyond first impressions to gauge what he’s like. If he wants to go out with someone else, he will because that’s his prerogative and out of your control. If you really like him and want him to know this, being patient will be good for multiple reasons, starting with the fact that it will happen for all the right things. Text him to initiate a conversation and see what happens. If there is a date, allow that to happen too, and remind yourself that bringing someone into your life should be done with care because people have an impact on one’s physical and mental health. Once you internalise that message, waiting for a call won’t seem that painful.

Do boys like emotional girls or should I try to be tougher?
If someone doesn’t like you for who you are, is that good?
