SBI to charge Basic Savings Bank Deposit customers for over four cash withdrawals from October 1

The country's largest lender, State Bank of India (SBI), on Thursday said it will revise the charges for cash withdrawals on Basic Savings Bank Deposit (BSBD) accounts operated through the branch channel, with effect from October 1, 2026.
What are the changes?
The bank will offer customers four free cash withdrawals each month. However, for withdrawals exceeding four transactions, the bank will levy a charge of Rs 15 plus GST (goods and services tax) on each additional transaction, it said in a statement on X.
