Rapper Badshah faced intense backlash and trolling on social media after he made a comment about global singer Dua Lipa. His remark, where he said he would like to “make babies” with the singer, did not sit well with netizens, who slammed him for being inappropriate. Now, the rapper has responded to the online outrage.

Badshah defends his statement

After the backlash, Badshah took to social media once again to clarify his stance. He did not apologize for his comment, but instead claimed it was a meaningful compliment.

"I think one of the most beautiful compliments that you could give to a woman that you really admire is to wish for her to be the mother of your children. Meri soch nahi, tumhari soch saamne aayi hai (Not mine, but your thinking has been exposed)," he wrote.

About the Badshah–Dua Lipa tweet

On June 6, Badshah took to X (formerly Twitter) and posted, "Dua Lipa" with a red heart emoji. The vague tweet left fans wondering whether a collaboration with the pop sensation was in the works.

A curious fan responded, asking if something was brewing between the two. To this, Badshah replied, "I’d rather make babies with her, bro."

A screenshot of the tweet surfaced on Reddit, where users slammed Badshah and called the comment tone-deaf.

One user wrote, “WHAT’S WITH THIS ‘HAVE BABIES’ JOKE? How can you say that and not feel disgusted with yourself?” Another commented, “Cringe. Why acting like a nibba? No class, agh.” A third added, “EWWWWW what a creep. Women really can’t catch a break—online or in real life.”

Badshah's personal life

Meanwhile, Badshah was previously married to London-based Jasmine Masih. The couple tied the knot in 2012 and divorced in 2020. They also have a daughter, born in 2017.

In an interview with The Lallantop, Badshah shared, “We met online, on Facebook, and then connected via a common friend. We dated for over a year, and then got married.”

Asked if his parents approved of the match, he laughed and said, “Ghar waale maan gaye. Woke banne ke chakkar mein kuch bole nahi (They probably wanted to appear woke, so they didn’t say anything).”

Speaking about the breakdown of their marriage, he said, “She was born in London, she grew up there. My parents predicted there would be problems—and that’s exactly what happened. She couldn’t adapt to the culture, and it got really messy. But both of us tried very hard to make it work.”
