About 120 Bahadur and shoot

Inspired by the life of Maj Shaitan Singh Bhati (PVC), 120 Bahadur tells the story of an extraordinary act of courage during the Battle of Rezang La in 1962, where 120 Indian soldiers stood their ground against thousands, defending Ladakh with unimaginable grit.

To match the scale and authenticity of the story, the team filmed in some of the most extreme conditions and high-altitude terrain in Ladakh.

“The team shot at around 14,000 feet in Ladakh, and temperatures often dipped to minus 5, even minus 10 degrees on some days,” reveals an industry source. “The aim was to honour the story with honesty, and Farhan really went all in — physically, mentally, emotionally.”

Farhan underwent significant transformation

Farhan Akhtar, who plays Maj Shaitan Singh Bhati (PVC), underwent a significant transformation for the film, including military-style training and acclimatisation at high altitude.

With sweeping visuals, a grounded tone, and a deeply patriotic core, 120 Bahadur is said to be one of Excel Entertainment’s most ambitious productions to date. Blending large-scale war action with emotional depth, the film aims to bring alive a powerful chapter of Indian military history.

120 Bahadur is directed by Razneesh ‘Razy’ Ghai and produced by Ritesh Sidhwani, Farhan Akhtar (Excel Entertainment), and Amit Chandrra (Trigger Happy Studios). An Excel Entertainment Production, the film hits cinemas on 21st November 2025.
