Ram Kapoor
Actor Ram Kapoor has been in the news for his dramatic weight loss at the age of 50. He shocked everyone with his transformation, which also led to speculations on use of Ozempic. The actor has time and again clarified that he did not use any weight loss supplement and achieved weight loss naturally. Recently, filmmaker Farah Khan visited Ram and his wife actress Gautami Kapoor's house as part of her celebrity kitchen vlogs. She was accompanied by her internet-famous cook Dilip.
As Farah entered Ram and Gautami's Mumbai home, she quizzed her cook Dilip about who they were. Dilip, who is often unaware of the guests, mistook Ram Kapoor for Tiger Shroff and Gautami for Deepika Padukone. Farah was later seen exploring their house and indulging in a fun conversation.
Ram Kapoor is getting more roles after weight loss?
Lauding his weight loss, Farah Khan asked the Bade Acche Lagte Hai fame actor whether he has been receiving more roles after the weight loss. To this, he said, "Some people reach a level where they get work because they have nothing more to prove. I am no star, I’ll never be a star, my name is not Khan. Main size main bada hun yaa chota, kaam milta hai. Maine yeh (weight loss) kaam ke liye nahi kiya, career ke liye nahi kiya, apne aap ke liye kiya (Whether I’m big or small in size, I still get work. I didn’t do this (weight loss) for work or for my career, I did it for myself). I promised myself that at the age of 50 I will do it.”
Farah did not agree with Ram's statement of him not being a star. She said, "He is a big star".
Ram Kapoor on losing 50 kgs in 18 months
In an earlier interview with ETimes, Ram Kapoor shared, “Believe it or not, I did it the old-fashioned way, by changing my mindset, lifestyle and habits, without any surgery or external aids. That said, there’s nothing wrong with medical options if they help someone. For me, it was about a complete mental and physical reset... fitness isn’t about the number on the scale; it’s about feeling strong, energetic, and healthy. Staying fit is a constant work in progress, and one’s life revolves around continuous improvement... today I feel like my 25-year-old self again, physically, mentally, and emotionally. I can walk for 12 hours without stopping. It’s a complete turnaround from where I was.”
Ram Kapoor further revealed that the audience loved him despite his weight since he was working even at his heaviest at 140 kg as seen in ‘Neeyat’ and ‘Jubilee’. He added, “Those roles suited my size, but I was unhealthy. I’d feel breathless after walking just 20 steps. I was diabetic, had a foot injury, and struggled even with basic movement. It was then that I realized I couldn’t go on like this. I have two children, and I felt the need to set a positive example for them by prioritizing my own health. Over the last six months, I pushed myself to shed 55 kgs, bringing me down to 85 kgs. The transformation is deeply personal."
