Hollywood actor Simon Pegg, who awaits the release of Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning, recently opened up about his encounter with South Korean boy band BTS members RM, Suga, Jimin, V, J-hope, Jungkook, and Jin after their Las Vegas concert. Interestingly, he also shared that he may have given COVID to the K-pop idols.

Did BTS members get COVID because of Simon Pegg?

During the Epik High interview, Simon addressed that he may have given COVID to the BTS members at their Las Vegas concert, which he attended with his daughter. The actor said, "I took my daughter to Las Vegas to see BTS. We had a meet and greet before the concert. Met everybody in BTS, they were really lovely, and this was in 2022. We were all feeling tired. We left and realized we had COVID, and for the next 5 days, we were checking the news to make sure BTS didn't have COVID.” Watch the video below.

Who is Simon Pegg?

Simon Pegg has worked with Tom Cruise in the Mission: Impossible film series since 2006's third instalment. He plays an IMF technical field agent, Benji Dunn. Recently, on an episode of the BBC's Desert Island Discs, via the Guardian, Pegg opened up about his struggles with alcoholism during the shoot of Mission: Impossible III. He attributes his road to recovery to the birth of his daughter in 2009.

Tom Cruise to appear on Run Jin

As part of the promotional campaign, Cruise has been traveling to different countries to spread the word about the film. In the run-up to its release, Cruise is set to appear on BTS star Jin’s solo show Run Jin. The two stars recently met during Cruise’s trip to South Korea. Reportedly, Cruise shot solo for the show hosted by Jin.

While Jin and J-hope are busy with their solo projects, the remaining BTS members will join them in June after completing their military service. The decision by BTS to enlist in the military helped avert a sticky situation for South Korea's government. Military service is compulsory for all able-bodied males under 30 years old. The current system allows for some exceptions on the grounds of exceptional service to the country. Some top athletes and classical musicians have been excused on this basis, but pop artists have not.
