Sony SAB India’s leading Hindi General Entertainment Channel, is set to present the emotionally powerful medical drama, Hui Gumm Yaadein – Ek Doctor, Do Zindagiyaan, the Indian adaptation of the globally acclaimed Italian medical drama DOC which has been adapted across several countries and received worldwide recognition.

Iqbal Khan gets candid about his character Dr Dev Mehta

Talented actor Iqbal Khan will be seen as the central character Dr. Dev Mehta - a highly respected and exceptionally skilled doctor, admired for his sharp medical acumen and unwavering commitment to saving lives. However, an unforeseen incident leaves him grappling with memory loss, erasing 8 years of personal and professional experiences. As Dr Dev navigates life without his past, he is compelled to rebuild his identity from scratch, both as a doctor and as a human being. Stripped of his memories and authority, he reconnects with patients not only as a doctor, but as a person with empathy and genuine human connections. His second chance at life reshapes his approach to medicine, proving that healing is as much about compassion as it is about clinical expertise.

Speaking about the show and his role, Iqbal Khan shared, “Yaadein, at its heart, is a story about second chances. My character Dr Dev loses his memories, his authority, and the life he once knew—but in that loss, he is given a rare opportunity to start again. As he rebuilds himself, he learns to listen more, feel more, and connect with his patients not just as a doctor, but as a fellow human being. What moved me was the idea that sometimes life strips everything away so you can rediscover empathy, humility, and the courage to begin again and Dr Dev’s journey is one of internal transformation.”

On his social media wipeout

Earlier, Iqbal reflected on his Instagram blackout, he said, “The digital blackout was an invitation for audiences to step into Dr Dev’s world before the story unfolds. Imagine waking up one day and realizing everything you lived, every memory you cherished, is gone. This was my way of sharing that fear, that emptiness with the audience.”

Hui Gumm Yaadein – Ek Doctor, Do Zindagiyaan promises to be a heartfelt story of medicine meeting humanity.
