The road that leads from Nana Nani Park in Versova to the cemetery in the neighbourhood — Versova Beach Road, as the locals call it — is dotted with pubs and bars where well-heeled migrants expend the income they make in the country’s financial capital. But, down that same road, lies Versova Village, home to the area’s indigenous Koli population, one of the city’s oldest inhabitants.
