India's tennis campaign at the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games ended on Thursday without a medal at the quadrennial continental competition for the first time in 40 years — since 1986.
In a day of double disappointment, Sumit Nagal lost his men’s singles quarter-final to China’s Wu Yibing in straight sets, 4-6, 4-6, while Suresh Dhakshineswar went down 3-6, 4-6 to Chinese Taipei’s Tseng Chun-hsin in the round of 16. India did not have an entry in the women’s singles draw.
