Khanna siblings rule MSSA tennis

The Khanna siblings Samika, 13, and Aadvik, 9, clinched the girls’ U-14 and boys’ U-10 crowns respectively in the MSSA inter-school tennis tournament at the Bombay Gymkhana courts recently. Both Samika and Aadvik won their maiden titles in inter-school competition.

Students of Dhirubhai Ambani School (Bandra), Samika defeated Rheea Goyal of Hill Spring School (Tardeo) 6-1, while her younger brother Aadvik, who had lost in the final last year, played with plenty of determination and overcame a strong challenge from Abir Sukhani of Vibgyor High School (Goregaon) 7-5 in the finals. Aadvik’s twin brother Aarush was unlucky to bow out in the quarter-finals. Samradnyee Dalvi of Canossa Convent High School (Andheri) quelled the challenge from Shrimoyee Kamat of Nalanda Public School (Mulund) by clinching a 6-3 verdict to win the girls’ U-16 gold medal. In the boys’ U-16 final, Vivaan Karandi of Bombay Scottish (Mahim) posted a 6-2 win against Nirvaan Thingbaijam of Podar International School (Santacruz) to emerge the champion.
