If you learn to trust her more, you will also learn to be less possessive in the bargain.

How do I win my girlfriend’s trust completely so that she won’t consider ending our relationship? We are in a good place for now, but I love her so much that I can’t imagine my life without her. If she ever decides to break up with me, I won’t be able to cope, so I worry about what I can and should do to make sure she is always happy to be with me. I am attentive, kind, and loving to her all the time, but I also feel that I can be possessive because of how much I care about her. I can’t seem to find the right balance which is why I worry that she may get overwhelmed and decide to be with someone a little less overbearing. Am I overthinking this?
You’re trying to find a balance without asking for your girlfriend’s inputs. If you think you’re too possessive, ask her how she feels. If you think you’re overbearing, ask her how she feels. If you try to smother her with affection to ensure she won’t leave, this is a one-sided relationship because it isn’t about working towards a shared goal. It’s great that you’re kind and attentive, but strong relationships are built on mutual respect and communication about what is or isn’t working. Don’t treat this as a goal. Think of it as a partnership instead and trust in the process. If she doesn’t want to be with you, nothing you do or say will change that. You can’t force anyone to be in a relationship just because you can’t imagine life without them. If you learn to trust her more, you will also learn to be less possessive in the bargain.
Should I stop being friends with someone if I don’t enjoy their company anymore?
That depends upon how much you value them and if your decision to be friends is based solely on whether they provide you with some form of entertainment. Relationships that work are never purely transactional in that sense.
