21-year-old Rohan Kapadia creates customised comic books featuring you as the superhero for a small sum
If you dreamt of becoming your favourite comic super hero, here is one man who can help you. Rohan Kapadia (21), the man who decided that being Batman is so much better than merely reading Batman. "After I completed my bachelors degree in business administration at Symbiosis, I knew I had to try something different. I got thinking about I wanted the most when I was a kid and it struck me I really, really wanted to be Batman! This is when I decided to develop these customised comics for kids and even adults."

How does he achieve this? "We take photographs of the kid, then make a look-alike character in the comic format. After this we develop the entire comic book."
His company Arkin Comics creates comics in some standard formats. There are two stories for boys in the age group 7-to-14 years and they can become a kid super hero fighting a mad scientist or aliens and what have you. There's one for girls; two for those who are older than 14 years.
"There are different genres a kid can choose from. For instance, he can become a commando or a space agent fighting aliens, " Rohan explained. "We synchronise this character's movements and the entire story line," he added.
He said, "It costs just Rs 999 and the value it has for kids is multi-fold. We also make T-shirts and mugs that has this comic character on it."
Kapadia, whose roots are in Nashik, came to Pune to study and has stayed here for six years now. "Pune is my first home now. There is a completely different vibe to the city, " he said.
Sahil Khan (19), who runs an e-magazine, observed, "He definitely has set a standard among subordinates and in the market too. Parents love the idea and the kids are thrilled to be featured in a comic."
