Look hot for New Year

The year 2011 has been marked by the unveiling of fabulous collections by renowned designers and labels in the city. Akshata Shetty picks the top four designs from the lot to help you dress up for the New Year bashes

Sensual silhouettes
Maheka Mirpuri's collections have the perfect silhouettes and flow to match your body type. Not too loud and not too over-the-top, Mirpuri's ensembles are our pick this year. Stocked at multi-designer store Fuel, the collection is available in various cuts and patterns.

Kaftan with a braided belt tied around the waist, designed by Maheka

With colours in solid hues and in variant shades, each outfit is eye-catching. The highlight of her collection is the fact that they can be combined with other garments or worn as a one-piece. With braided belts making every outfit a head-turner, you can experiment with your look at the next party you head to. With a good mix of Indo-western designs and minimal embellishments, Mirpuri's collections is something you can't miss.
Collection range: Tunics, kaftans, gowns and dresses.
At Fuel, Connaught Place, Bund Garden Road.

For the love of colours
Nivedita Saboo's collections are rich in embellishments and always manage to spring a surprise. With the year coming to an end we would pick Saboo's boutique Neo Couture to shop for party outfits. Her collection is elegant and timeless.

A magical twist
Pune's very own designer Seema Singh loves to play around with themes and makes sure that her designs suit the city's fashionistas. Check out her velvet tube dresses with embellishments or go for the flowy gowns with different cuts and patterns.

Blue gown designed by Seema Singh

Chic and bright, the designs can be worn at parties and make for good evening dinner wear. Though there aren't any mix and match options in her designs, she suggests that if someone is not comfortable wearing the bikini blouse with the lehenga, they can opt for the brocade blouse.
