A 30-year-old man is on run after raping his 14-year-old stepdaughter in Malvani. The incident came to light during a medical check up at a private remand home in Dongri where the girl is currently lodged. The teenager revealed her ordeal to the medical officer upon coaxing.

Officials from Malvani police stations said Azim Sheikh (30) a resident of Madh, managed to escape from the clutches of the police team that had gone to arrest him yesterday from his residence. Though the medical report of the girl was made official on June 7, the FIR was filed only on Monday night.

The cops said the girl’s mother married Sheikh last year and has two more children, daughter (11) and son (7). The teenager was first raped in February, when no one was at home. Sheikh threatened her of dire consequences if she revealed it to anyone. He then repeated his act on two separate occasions.

Officials said the girl was shifted to Asha Sadan in Dongri after her mother and uncle locked horns over her custody. It during a check-up that it was revealed that she had been raped.
