Champions League: Chelsea draw 3-3 against Roma

Cesar Azpilicueta has admitted morale at Chelsea is low due to their three-match winless run. The Blues were held to a 3-3 draw by Roma in their Champions League encounter at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday. Chelsea, since winning impressively at Atletico Madrid last month, have lost successive Premier League games to Manchester City and Crystal Palace. David Luiz (11th minute) gave Chelsea the lead, but although Eden Hazard (37th minute) doubled the hosts' advantage before half-time, Roma hit back with goals from Aleksandar Kolarov (40th minute) and Edin Dzeko (70th minute). It took a late Hazard equaliser (75th minute) to help Chelsea avoid three straight losses for the first time in Antonio's Conte's stewardship.

While Azpilicueta described the battling point as "big", the Spain defender wants a win against Watford in the Premier League tomorrow to boost confidence. "The mood at the moment is not the best," Azpilicueta said. "It's true that we are not in our best moment. We came into the game after two consecutive defeats in the Premier League. "We had the game in our hands when we were 2-0 up, but we also had it lost when we were 3-2 down. We managed to get a point, we are top of the group and we will keep fighting.

"To come back into the game to get a point [against Roma] is big for the team, to show the character and that we won't give up. "But the reality is that we have gone three games without a win and we will try to get back to winning ways on Saturday." Chelsea lead Champions League Group 'C' by two points from Roma ahead of the October 31 fixture in the Eternal City.
