A few weeks ago, the Kerala pacer was looking forward to cheer the Indian team in the World Cup with a song composed by his new band after being omitted from the 15-man squad.

Sreesanth's inclusion could be a blessing in disguise for Mahendra Singh Dhoni's team. T A Sekar, who has contributed immensely to Sreesanth's career ufffd a fact acknowledged by the pacer himself ufffd reckoned Sreesanth will be hungrier than ever to perform.
"He is the kind of bloke, who will come hard after being denied an opportunity. He will be hungrier than ever to perform at the World Cup which is obviously very special. This is a Godsend opportunity. He was destined to play in the World Cup," Sekar, who coached Sreesanth at the MRF Pace Foundation in Chennai, told MiD DAY yesterday.
The chirpy paceman made a comeback to international cricket after recovering from a knee injury. "I have always seen him play his heart out after recovering from an injury."
Ideal replacement
Sekar, now Mumbai Indians' Director of Cricket, said Sreesanth is the ideal replacement for injured Praveen Kumar.
"Like Praveen, Sree can also take early wickets. He can move the ball both ways. He can bowl excellent yorkers and inswingers. He also has pace which is always a good thing. He bowled excellently on the recent South Africa tour. It's a good choice to have him in the side. Zaheer Khan (left-arm seamer) and Sreesanth (right-hand pacer) is a good combination," Sekar said.
Sreesanth's on-field antics have often landed him in trouble. He recently got a dressing down from Dhoni for sledging South African skipper Graeme Smith during the Test series.
Sekar, however, said it is up to Sreesanth to deal with it. "It is up to Sree to decide what is right or wrong. I just hope he justifies the faith shown in him by the selectors for such a big event," Sekar signed off.
