Daksh Sojitra's superb goal helped DY Patil International School (Worli) not only clinch a 1-0 victory against Don Bosco 'B' (Matunga), but also earn promotion to Division I along with a place in the final for the first time during the Mumbai School Sports Association (MSSA)-organised boys under-14 Division II inter-school football tournament at Azad Maidan yesterday.

The Worli outfit dominated the game right from the start sticking to their 5-3-2 formation. DY Patil could have opened their account in the 2nd minute, but striker Daksh's attempt went wide. After the interval, DY Patil pressed hard and were finally rewarded.

Daksh, who received a through ball from Haider Karachiwala, made no mistake to dribble it forward from the right wing and slot it home from inside the penalty box in the 23rd minute. "I am very proud of the team. They were able to defeat a strong Bosco side," DY Patil coach Hanzel Fernandes said after his team's historic win.
