The police have arrested an engineer for allegedly molesting and assaulting a woman doctor at her clinic at Vimanagar last Friday.
Identified as Rohitkumar Rampal Singh (31), the accused used to like the doctor and had often visited her clinic in the past. A few months ago, Singh’s mother was admitted to the victim’s clinic for treatment.
A N Shahane, Sub-Inspector of Airport police station, said, “Singh is a BTech and was working with a private firm in Vimanagar. However, he was jobless since the last couple of months. He used to like the victim and would often visit her clinic. Irked, the victim had discussed this issue with Singh’s parents in the past. However, he did not stop visiting her clinic.”

On May 31 around 11 am, Singh came to the clinic and assaulted her with a sharp edged weapon and molested her.u00a0“After the incident, the victim was scared and complained to her husband. Her husband lodged a complaint with us on June 1. We immediately arrested Singh from his residence and recovered a weapon from his possession,” said Shahane. The court has remanded him in judicial custody.u00a0
