Sanjay Manjrekar's comparison of 'flat' peach with 'underrated' cricketer is spot on!

Cricketer-turned-commentator Sanjay Manjrekar is known for his wit on Twitter.

Well, the former India cricketer took the micro-blogging site on Friday and posted a one-liner that didn't get the response he was expecting. The tweet also left some fans of the cricketer a little upset.

Manjrekar, in his attempt at Twitter humour, compared Rahul Dravid with a 'flat' peach. The 51-year-old wanted to illustrate the fact that the flat peach was as tasty as the 'regular ones' just like Dravid was as brilliant, if not more so, as some of the other 'legends' of the game.

Dravid has always lived in the shadow of his more illustrious colleagues -- Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly and VVS Laxman -- the 'Fab Four' of Indian cricket.

The Holding Willey Report had in 2009 declared Rahul Dravid as India's greatest Test cricketer of all time. It was a tribute to the intense fighter for his unmatchable feats against the best in the most demanding and hostile conditions. But somehow his remarkable achievements in the Tests were many times overshadowed by the other greats in the team at the time.

It is only in recent times with Dravid prowess as a coach and mentor coming to the fore that the 43-year-old former cricketer is getting some of his dues.

THESE QUOTES ABOUT DRAVID PROVE HIS GREATNESS:

Brian Lara: "If I have to put anyone to bat for my life, it'll be Kallis or Dravid."
Glenn McGrath: "If there was one Indian player who could get a direct entry into the famous Australian team of the late 90s, it would be Rahul Dravid."
Christopher Martin-Jenkins: "If a Martian were to land on earth now and be told that the best batsman in the world was playing in this match, he would think it was Rahul Dravid and not Sachin Tendulkar."
