"I implemented the 'Mandal Commission'. Reservation is social-based and not religion-based. Atal Bihari Vajpayee constituted the Constitution Review Commission... We are getting reports in our favor after the third phase. They are saying 400-plus to induce psychological pressure, they won't even cross 200,” he added. Earlier, RJD Chief said, “The votes are on our side... They are saying that there will be 'Jungle Raj' because they are scared, they are trying to instigate... They want to finish the Constitution and democracy... 'Are toh reservation toh milna chahiye Musalmano ko, pura'.”

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on April 27 slammed Congress over politicization of Electronic Voting Machines. Slamming Congress, UP CM said that the people who are rejecting EVMs today are the same people who used to loot ballots. A video of a Bengaluru shopkeeper being thrashed by Muslim mob, is making rounds on social media. The shopkeeper was allegedly thrashed for playing Hanuman Chalisa at his store. Political slugfest broke out soon after the videos reached the Opposition in the state. Taking to ‘X’, LoP R Ashoka shared the video and questioned the state government over the incident. Meanwhile, BJP leader PC Mohan alleged that the attack on man is the grim reality of Congress’ ‘Mohabbat Ki Dukaan’. BJP Yuva Morcha National President Tejasvi Surya alleged that the incident was result of Conress’ appeasement politics. Surya after meeting the victim on March 18 said that he has demanded an unbiased investigation from Bengaluru City Commissioner. Agitated by the incident, people in large numbers raised ‘Jai Shree Ram’ in the area.

Denouncing the recently enacted Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) once again, AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi went all guns blazing against BJP on March 16 in Hyderabad, Telangana. During a press conference, he alleged that the BJP government wants to make the poor and Muslims stateless. "Our case (challenging CAA) is already in the Supreme Court but at that time govt of India said that the rules are yet not framed. But now as the govt has issued the notifications and has framed the rules for CAA, going to the Supreme Court is a must. If the govt starts giving citizenship based on an unconstitutional law, it can be harmful... This govt is saying that if your religion is Islam, we won't provide you the citizenship, for this we have moved to the Supreme Court. The law was passed in 2019 by the ruling party, but they keep it as it is, when they saw that there would be an announcement for elections in a week, they came up with rules in the night by keeping in mind, the elections. The BJP-led govt wants to make the poor and Muslims stateless.

PM Modi implemented CAA on 11th of March. After the implementation several doubts have been raised which has now been cleared by the Union Home Minister Amit Shah. He had a detailed discussion on CAA in an interview on 14th March. He was asked about his stance on international media terming CAA as an "anti-muslim" law. To this, he replied, "You cannot see this law in isolation. In 1947, partition was done based on religion... Congress leaders at the time had said that people who migrated could come back anytime. But due to appeasement politics, Congress never fulfilled its promise... "

Security has been stepped up in Banbhoolpura area of Uttarakhand’s Haldwani after violence broke out. An anti-encroachment drive was carried out on February 08 after which violence broke out in the area. So far, 4 persons killed, and over 100 policemen sustained injuries in the Haldwani violence. Four companies of paramilitary forces were rushed to the city to maintain the law and order situation. District Magistrate has imposed a curfew in Banbhoolpura and issued shoot-at-sight orders. Many vehicles including cars, motorcycles were set ablaze during the violence on February 08. Internet Services have been suspended and educational institutions have been closed in the district. Uttarakhand Police has also requested the Home Ministry to send additional paramilitary forces. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami urged locals to maintain the law and order in district.

After a clash was reported from Mumbai's Mira Road, bulldozers razed illegal structures and encroachments in the Naya Nagar area of Mira Road on Tuesday. "Illegal structures and encroachments were razed by bulldozers in the Naya Nagar area of Mira Road where Ram Mandir Pran Pratishtha celebrations were stone pelted. After instructions from the Maharashtra government, action is being taken by the Municipal Corporation with the help of the police," the Maharashtra government said. Meanwhile, three persons were arrested in Mumbai and an FIR was filed against unknown individuals after at least four cases of outraging religious sentiments were filed in the city following the Mira Road Violence.
