Sudarshan Setu: Watch spectacular drone visuals of India’s longest cable-stayed

‘Sudarshan Setu’, India’s longest cable-stayed bridge in Gujarat was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on February 25. The Okha-Beyt Dwarka Signature Bridge, also called the Sudarshan Setu spanning 2.5 kilometres, holds immense significance for both residents and pilgrims visiting the revered Dwarkadhish Temple. Initiated by the Centre in 2017 with a groundbreaking ceremony, the bridge aims to simplify access for devotees commuting between Okha and Bet Dwarka. Before its construction, pilgrims had to rely on boat transport to reach the Dwarkadhish Temple in Beyt, Dwarka. The 2.5 km bridge has been built for Rs 978 crore which is set to give a major infrastructure boost in the region.

The BAPS Hindu Mandir is UAE’s first traditional Hindu stone temple. PM Modi had launched the project for the construction of the temple in 2015. The temple is ready to be inaugurated by PM Modi on February 14, during his two-day visit to the UAE. Preparations are in full swing in Abu Dhabi ahead of the inauguration of 'BAPS Mandir,' the first Hindu temple in UAE. Volunteers of the temple have expressed their enthusiasm and termed it a "dream" that has come true for "everyone in the Indian community."

Tamil Nadu Rains: Drone Visuals show lakes overflow as rain unleashes fury

The rain has unleashed its fury in the southern state of Tamil Nadu. The IMD has issued a 'Red' alert for Tenkasi, Thoothukudi, Tiruvaneli and Kanyakumari districts. 40 lakes in the Kovilpatti area of Thoothukudi district have reached full capacity. According to IMD, heavy rain was expected to occur in one or two places over Kanyakumari, Tirunelveli, and Thoothukudi. It has been raining continuously since the morning of December 17 in Kovilpatti and areas of Thoothukudi. On December 19, thunderstorms and lightning are likely to occur at one or two places in Tamil Nadu. The Tamil Nadu government has taken precautionary measures to ensure people's safety following the Tamil Nadu rains.

Cyclone Michaung: Drone visuals show scale of devastation in Tamil Nadu

Cyclone Michaung barrelled into the southern Indian coast on December 5 with intense winds, its arrival preceded by torrential rains and flooding that killed at least 13 people, as officials assessed the damage. Trees were uprooted and at least 25 villages were inundated as the cyclone traversed northwards and authorities evacuated more than 15,000 people to safety ahead of landfall.  More than 140 trains and 40 flights were cancelled in the state of Tamil Nadu. In Chennai, residents struggled with waist-deep floodwaters that also submerged cars. In an attempt to flush rainwater out of the city, another corporation of Tamil Nadu, Coimbatore, dispatched twelve 41-HP motors to Chennai for flood relief operations.

Uttarkashi Tunnel Rescue: Visuals of the rescue of the 41 trapped workers

In a major victory in the Uttarkashi tunnel rescue operation, the NDRF on Nov 28 rescued all trapped workers from the Silkyara tunnel. The NDRF personnel entered the Silkyara tunnel to rescue the workers on the 17th day of the tunnel collapse. The rescuers entered the tunnel by completing 45-meter pipe drilling to evacuate the workers. The rescued workers were shifted to hospitals for further treatment in 30 ambulances which were on standby at the incident site. The ambulances were fully equipped to provide enhanced medical assistance to patients during transportation. Hours after the safe evacuation of 41 trapped workers from the Silkyara tunnel on November 28, Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to the rescued men over the phone. Earlier on Nov 12, Uttarkashi Tunnel Collapse occurred from Silkyara to Barkot due to debris falling in a 60-meter stretch on the Silkyara side.

Drone visuals have emerged from the Assar region of Doda where at least 36 people died and 19 others were injured in a bus accident. The visuals give a view of the deep gorge into which the bus fell. 25 bodies have been recovered so far. Union Minister Jitendra Singh said that a helicopter service was being arranged to transport the injured. The injured were shifted to District Hospital Kishtwar and GMC Doda. PM Modi expressed his condolences and also announced ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh from PMNRF to the next of kin of each deceased in the Doda bus accident. Rs. 50,000 would be given to the injured.

The latest capture of Signature Bridge in Delhi from ANI’s drone camera at 10 a.m. showed the severity of the pollution.  The Air Quality Index is a tool for effective communication of air quality status to people in terms that are easy to understand. There are six AQI categories, namely Good, Satisfactory, Moderately polluted, Poor, Very Poor, and Severe. As per the System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting and Research (SAFAR), the overall Air Quality Index stood at 346.

The death toll has mounted to 11 and at least 50 people were injured in the tragic accident. The tragic train accident in Andhra Pradesh’s Vizianagram district has jolted the nation. One of the trains was operating from Vizianagram to Rayagada, Odisha. The other train was going from Visakhapatnam to Palasa, Andhra Pradesh. CPRO East Coast Railways informed that 18 trains have been cancelled and around 22 have been diverted.
