Lok Sabha Elections 2024: How Are Votes Counted In India? Simple Explanation
03 June,2024 05:40 PM  India's mega event, the Lok Sabha Elections, wrapped up on June 1st after seven phases spread across 44 days. A whopping 15 million polling staff journeyed across the country to set up approximately 1 million polling stations, including in remote areas like villages, hills, deserts, and conflict zones. Despite scorching temperatures, voters across India turned up to cast their ballots during each phase with a total estimated voter count of 969 million people. To keep up with modern times, electronic voting machines were used for casting ballots, making the process more efficient and reliable. Now at stake are 543 seats in the Lok Sabha. The votes will be counted on Tuesday, June 4 and the counting for all constituencies will begin at 8am.
